"Seeker" in Tzu Chi's Footsteps

It has been nearly two years since I took on the both oral and written interpretation into Japanese language. Initially I doubted even my perseverance. But it must be from the positive energy of Dharma Master's constant blessings to the online book study!

Every time I received the various sharer's manuscript, I started to look for the words by leafing through the pages in the dictionary, if I cannot find the answer then I would search in the Internet . Although I am not a “Searcher” for Keelung volunteers’ charity welfare home visits and care group, I seemed to be a  “Seeker of Tzu Chi's history".

Whenever each invitee is sharing their own heart touching heart warming stories, their contents would often includes names, places, the local Tzu Chi footsteps or local customs and belief etc that we are not familiar with. In order to correctly express the authenticity and coherence of the story line, I must search for relevant information on the Internet, and present it to the Japanese audience through Japanese language oral translation, so as not to mislead the audience's expectations, nor to disappoint the speaker's mindfulness!

After making the translation, I always need to listen to the replay repeatedly to check whether own expressive capability is clear and easy to understand? After confirmation, I mustered up the courage to forward the video with Japanese interpretation to my Japanese friends but I didn’t get any feedback, causing myself to feel frustrated and down!

Recently, after I send out the content of my oral interpretation : Brother Wu Hanwen's “ Kaohsiung Online Book Study" as starting point to respect and love Master, I received a feedback from a Japanese friend. She also told me to that she “takes notes while listening", and asked me to continue sending her the translations.  At that moment, I am deeply moved in heart and inspired.

In the future, even if she is the only listener, I am willing to go all out and continue to be a "Seeker" of Tzu Chi's historical footprints. This time (July) I undertook the duty of "From Books Study Imbibing the Dharma; Living a Dharma lead life" from by Sister Liu Minjuan of Malaysia. I am looking forward to following her example and becoming a true "Teacher of the Dharma".
